Download Instagram Videos on iPhone

iPhones do not let you save Instagram videos directly, but with Safari and DownloadVideoIG you can store any public video in your Files or Photos app in a few taps. Here is exactly how.

Copy the link from the Instagram app (Share → Copy Link) and paste it above. Free & unlimited.

Copy the link in the Instagram app

Open the Instagram app, find the video, tap the three-dot menu and choose Copy Link. This works for feed videos and reels alike.

Open DownloadVideoIG in Safari

Launch Safari (or Chrome) on your iPhone, come to this page, tap the input box and paste the link. Then tap Download.

Save to Files or Photos

When the download button appears, tap it. Safari asks where to save — choose Downloads or Save to Files. To move a video into your camera roll, open the Files app, tap the video, share it and choose Save Video.

Troubleshooting on iOS

If nothing downloads, make sure you allowed downloads in Safari settings, and that the post is public. Some older iOS versions save videos to the Files app rather than Photos — that is normal, and you can move them afterwards.

Getting videos into your Camera Roll

iOS sometimes saves downloads to the Files app rather than Photos. To move a video into your Camera Roll, open Files, find the download, tap Share, and choose “Save Video”. It will then appear in Photos like any other clip.

Using Chrome instead of Safari

If Safari opens the video in a new tab instead of downloading, try Chrome for iOS. Long-press the download button and choose “Download link”, or use the download manager in Chrome’s menu to save the file directly.

DownloadVideoIG is not affiliated with Instagram or Meta. Only download content you own or have permission to use, and respect all applicable copyright.
